Product Care & Maintenance Guide

At Zenya Living, our outdoor furniture and structures are designed for long-term residential use. Proper care and maintenance are essential to ensure product durability, safety, and appearance over time.

This guide provides general recommendations for maintaining your products in optimal condition.

1. General Outdoor Use Guidelines

All Zenya Living products are designed for residential outdoor environments.

To maximize product lifespan:

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme weather conditions when possible
  • Regularly inspect hardware and structural connections
  • Clean surfaces periodically to remove dirt, dust, and debris
  • Ensure proper drainage to avoid standing water on or around products

Outdoor products naturally age over time due to environmental exposure.

2. HDPE Furniture Care

High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is a durable, low-maintenance material commonly used in outdoor furniture.

To maintain HDPE products:

  • Clean regularly with mild soap and warm water
  • Use a soft cloth or sponge (avoid abrasive brushes)
  • Rinse thoroughly after cleaning
  • Avoid strong chemical cleaners or bleach-based products

Important Notes:

HDPE may naturally experience:

  • Minor surface fading over time
  • Slight color variation due to sun exposure
  • Normal weathering from outdoor use

These changes are cosmetic and do not affect structural performance.

3. Metal Frame Care

Some products include aluminum or metal structural components.

To maintain metal parts:

  • Periodically check screws and fasteners for tightness
  • Wipe down surfaces to prevent dirt buildup
  • Avoid prolonged moisture accumulation

Important Notes:

Metal components may naturally show:

  • Minor oxidation over long periods (depending on environment)
  • Cosmetic surface changes due to weather exposure

These are normal and do not necessarily indicate a defect.

4. Pergola & Gazebo Maintenance

Pergolas and gazebos require periodic inspection to ensure structural safety.

We recommend:

  • Checking all bolts and anchoring points every 2–3 months
  • Ensuring structure remains securely anchored to the ground
  • Removing debris such as leaves or branches from roof areas
  • Inspecting for movement after strong winds or storms

Winter & Weather Advisory:

  • Remove snow accumulation promptly to prevent excessive load
  • Do not allow ice buildup on structural beams or louvers
  • During severe weather conditions, additional protective measures are recommended

Damage caused by improper maintenance or extreme weather conditions is not covered under warranty.

5. Fabric & Cushion Care (if applicable)

For products that include cushions, fabric, or textile components:

  • Store cushions indoors during heavy rain or winter seasons when possible
  • Clean fabric using mild soap and water
  • Allow cushions to fully dry before storage or reuse
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture

6. Cleaning Recommendations

General cleaning guidelines:

  • Use mild soap and water for routine cleaning
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners or pressure washers on close range
  • Do not use harsh solvents or industrial chemicals
  • Rinse thoroughly after cleaning to prevent residue buildup

7. Seasonal Storage Recommendations

For extended product life, we recommend seasonal care:

  • Cover furniture during prolonged non-use periods
  • Store cushions and removable components indoors during winter
  • Ensure products are dry before covering or storing
  • Avoid trapping moisture under covers

8. Product Longevity Expectations

With proper care and maintenance:

  • HDPE furniture is designed for long-term outdoor durability
  • Pergolas and gazebos are designed for multi-year residential use
  • Metal components are engineered for outdoor environmental exposure

Actual lifespan depends on:

  • Climate conditions
  • Maintenance frequency
  • Installation quality
  • Environmental exposure level

9. Damage Prevention Guidelines

To prevent unnecessary damage:

  • Do not overload furniture beyond intended use
  • Do not climb or hang on pergolas or gazebos
  • Do not modify structural components
  • Secure all items properly during storms or extreme weather

10. Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for:

  • Routine maintenance and inspection
  • Proper cleaning and care
  • Following product usage guidelines
  • Ensuring safe usage conditions

Failure to follow care instructions may affect warranty eligibility.
